Waxing and Sugaring
Whole Body Studio aestheticians use Cirepil Blue non-strip wax for all bikini, Brazilian, and facial waxing services. This non-strip wax is gentle and perfect for sensitive spots like the bikini area, upper lip, brow area, cheeks, and chin.
For all other body waxing, we use Satin Smooth Crème
wax. Satin Smooth waxes are imported from Italy and blended with beeswax,
which contains a natural antibiotic called propolis. All Satin Smooth
waxes have protective ingredients to guard skin against irritation
and injury and do away with the need for powder, in turn minimizing
hair breakage.
Prior to beginning any waxing service, our aestheticians use a very
thin layer of Jasmine Oil. This oil creates a barrier
between the skin and the wax and ensures the wax will be removed easily
and without sticking to the skin.
For those with extra-sensitive skin, we also offer Sugaring. Sugaring
is a non-invasive, all-natural hair removal method created thousands
of years ago. Using a sugar paste, our aesthetician will thoroughly
and gently remove unwanted hair. While there is still an element of
pain involved (After all, we are removing hair!), sugaring, unlike
waxing, may be utilized again and again in the same spot with no adverse
effects to the skin. Sugar dissolves completely using only warm water,
making cleanup a breeze!
Some waxing words of wisdom:
• It is not recommended that a female client be waxed during a time in which she is PMSing or actively menstruating. The skin is thinner and more sensitive and it is often considerably more painful than at any other time. If we discover that you are menstruating, we reserve the right to refuse service until a later date.
• Please be advised that if you have always been a shaver, your first time waxing will be the most difficult. Hair that has grown back from shaving is often more resistant and harder to remove. Each time that you wax, the hair grows in softer and sparser and is easier and easier to remove.
• After you have been waxed, remember that the skin is very delicate and will need a day to recover. Any undue friction may cause further inflammation.
• Your hair must be at least ¼ inch long in order for waxing to be effective.
• Please let us know if you are currently using accutane or any topical products containing retinol. These products increase sensitivity and you might want to consider sugaring rather than waxing.
